my horoscope for today...brought to you by jazzy! (yahoo!)

While yesterday was more of a day to let the fire burn brightly, today is more of a day to put it out, dear Aries. You will find that strength will come as you ground and center yourself, instead of trying to venture outward. This is especially true in your romantic relations, and you will find that the more stable and dependable you are, the more attractive you will be to your lover.

someone please put in erin terms. => 10q

it feels like morning still. it's quite dark outside. rain is symbolic of tears and sadness. maybe they are happy tears.

jessica says, "the rain is symbolic of washing away our first semester and all the mistakes in it." true words of wisdom.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESSICA!!!
awww...she was surprised and liked it! yay! maivi and i spent yesterday afternoon/evening preparing for our "shindig at midnight." we made this awesome "happy birthday jessica" sign and hung it with floss. yea.....and our balloons were made out of paper. so...because of our ghetto fab decor maivi and i decided to call ourselves "ghetto creashuns by mairin." we could totally make a living off of this! haha...
so the party lasted a good 10 minutes. the roommates are studying for their 8am final. i, on the other hand, am throwing an after party. => by myself. WU!
k...math time. i'm pumped! just had pizza! WAHOO!!!

i'm up still. it's quite exciting when you look at all the different classes you can take in college. yet, it becomes disappointing when you realize that the classes aren't offered when you need to take them. bleh.

so i'm thinking...double major in molecular and cell biology (with emphasis in neurobiology or biochemistry) and cognitive science (with emphasis in cognitive neuroscience or congnitive psychology). what do you think? am i crazy? yea, i think i am, but the classes sound soooooo interesting.

maivi asked me "do you really want to touch someone's brain?" i think i do. it sounds disguisting, i know, but i have some sort of fascination with how people's minds work.

so i'm rethinking my class options for next semester...and for the rest of my days at Cal. geez...what if i don't graduate in 4 years as i intend to? eep!---7th-year senior! WUWU! =>heehee

p.s. i found out today that i have sophomore standing when the fall semester ends. how exciting!

we had "pancit" for dinner in the dc. insane! ok, it's sooo dumb. the cafeteria complains about the wasting of food. of course you don't want to waste it, but then if you have too much, you kind of have to. -you're not allowed to take it back. whatever...so...i only wanted a little bit of "pancit" (i'll explain the quotes later) so i told the lady to stop and she puts more on. she even heard me say "that's enough" cause she responded with "that's it?" and i said "yes." omg! how annoying.

so onto this "pancit" thing. (pancit is a filipino noodle dish.) i was ready for disappointment cause i knew it'd be really nasty. there were hardly any noodles--mostly big chunks of squash and red bell peppers. that's not right. whatever. i tried to make it taste good with lemon. --didn't work. it had a distinct cafeteria taste. bleh.

but during dinner...manish made this interesting comment: "you say you love the Lakers, but you don't know shit about anything else." that's sooo true. i mean, if you don't know anything about something, you can't really say that you love something else to the extend of showing it off, etc. i guess to some extent you can get away with it, but if you think about it you really can't appreaciate the value of it. hmmm...good thing to ponder on.

maivi and i attended the final review session for chem tonight. it was refreshing, but somehow i didn't find it that helpful. it bascially summed up everything in 2 hours, which was great, but nothing new sparked intersting or brain waves... i guess i just have to do more practice questions so i can pass this thing. EESH. 2 more days....less than 2 more days. oh yes, i came up with a new word. since we are learning about acids and bases...and people say "basically"...maivi and i have decided that the word "acidically" should be added into our everyday lingo. acidically speaking, we were kind of bored--creative, rather--in review session. see how well that went into that sentence? =>heehee

*i have painted my nails so i won't bite them during finals...we'll see how well that goes*

in theater...our LAST class...i had to write a poem reflecting on what we thought performance is now that we've gone through a semester of learning about plays and such. so i wrote this, inspired by my last paper of the year where i wrote about the character development through costuming in a performed text:

5.5 page paper
for now i realize
that when i look into the eyes
of a performer
there are smiles and tears
romance and fears

for now i assume
that with each costume
of a performer
there are textures and hues
which may confuse
other people but i just did a 5.5-page paper on it so i should hope i understand this stuff.
